The former Swedish number one had big shoes to fill in the form of greats and fellow countrymen Bjorn Borg, Mats Wilander and Stefan Edberg. He more than delivered on early expectation and his career highlights include reaching the final of the Australian Open in 1999, where he was runner-up to Yevgeny Kafelnikov and a quarter-final appearance at Wimbledon in 2001.
